Fletcher Moss Rangers F.C.
Manchester's Junior Football Powerhouse
Fletcher Moss Rangers, founded in 1986, began when a group of dads and their sons started playing football in Fletcher Moss Park. Organized by Nigel Hanson and Howard Isaacs, the club quickly grew, attracting more players and teams. The club became known for its diverse membership, embracing players from all backgrounds, and soon established a reputation for style and quality football.
In 1990, Ron Jamieson, a local referee, took the club to the next level, establishing links with Manchester City and growing the club's reputation. Notably, Fletcher Moss produced players like Wes Brown, Marcus Rashford, and others who went on to play professionally.
The club expanded over the years, moving to Mersey Bank playing fields and establishing a successful soccer school. Fletcher Moss Rangers earned the FA Charter Standard Community Club status, marking it as one of the elite junior football clubs in Manchester. Today, it boasts up to 30 teams, including boys, girls, and adult teams, and continues to be a key player in the development of young football talent.
