FIFA

The global governing body of football.

FIFA is the global governing body of football, overseeing the game across more than 200 national associations. It is responsible for organising the FIFA World Cup, setting the Laws of the Game in collaboration with IFAB, and establishing the overall framework within which football operates worldwide.

At the grassroots level, FIFA’s influence is broad rather than direct. Through development programmes, funding initiatives, and global policy frameworks, it shapes how football infrastructure and participation grow in different regions. While local realities vary, FIFA sets the outer boundaries that define how the game expands across countries and cultures.
